John Blythe Dobson (b. 1961) has a B.A. (Hons.) in History from the University of Winnipeg. His main genealogical interest is in identifying the origins of early immigrants to New Netherland. Since 2010 he has been a contributing editor to The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record. He lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he works for the University of Winnipeg Library.
