Gene Zubrinsky (b. 1941) is a former world-class high jumper, community-college sociology instructor, and jazz musician. His interest in genealogy began, slowly at first, after he left teaching, in 1987; his first genealogical journal article appeared in 1992. While his primary focus is colonial southern New England, he has published pieces on the English origins of early immigrants and compiled an extensive account of his Russian–Jewish paternal ancestry. Appearing online are his sketches of a dozen early members of the Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and Providence, Rhode Island, Carpenter families and their respective English origins.
