Fellows > Priscilla Eaton Gumina

Priscilla Eaton Gumina was born and raised in New Hampshire, with roots in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Quebec. She is a summa cum laude, phi beta kappa graduate of Dartmouth College, Class of 1980, with a major in English, and earned her Master’s degree in Administration and Policy Analysis from Stanford University Graduate School of Education in 1981. She then pursued a career in higher education administration, working at Stanford University, Boston College, and the University of Rochester. Her interest in genealogy was inspired by her aunt, Annie Eaton, who seemingly out of the blue, delivered a box of Bible records, deeds, wills, and books to her college dorm room in the fall of 1976. Ten years later, Priscilla began compiling her family history, and then turned to writing genealogical articles. For more than twenty years, Priscilla (writing under her maiden name of Priscilla Eaton) has published extensively and frequently in many of the most respected genealogical journals, including The Genealogist, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, The American Genealogist, American Ancestors, The Essex Genealogist, and The New Hampshire Genealogical Record, as well as several dozen articles over the years in The Maine Genealogist, where she serves as a Contributing Editor. In 2020 Priscilla published The Littlefield Genealogy: Descendants of Edmund Littlefield of Wells, Maine, Through Six Generations. This study of the family of a Great Migration immigrant to New England was awarded the Donald Lines Jacobus Award from the ASG. Priscilla lives in Rochester, New York with her husband, Gregory.
